What Kiwi’s Floor Stripping and Waxing Service Looks Like
If you’ve never stripped or waxed your floors before, you may be nervous about how the process will go down or if it could potentially be damaging to your flooring. Before they begin the floor stripping and waxing process, your tech will make sure that every surface of the flooring is dust-free and has no signs of debris so that the stripping solution can be applied evenly and correctly the first time. After the stripping solution has been applied, a wet dry vacuum will be used to remove sealers and floor finish completely. Using a series of mop buckets and clean water, your floor will be rinsed of the stripping solution once your technician determines that the solution has completed its job.
After the stripping solution has been removed and cleaned, your tech will ensure that all other residue is removed and then they will mop every square foot of the floor. Depending on how many square feet your living space is, this part of the process can take anywhere from one hour to several, allowing for it to dry completely before moving onto the waxing portion of the restoration process. The floor drying is a crucial step before the wax so that it is applied properly.
The last step of the process is when your technician will apply the floor wax. They will do so in sections and make sure each coat of wax is applied efficiently so that your flooring areas will look beautiful and stay shiny.
