Preparing Your Home For Home Cleaning
How You Should Prepare Your Home for A Cleaning Service
Signing up for KIWI Services saves you time by taking care of your floor, upholstery, rug, and air duct cleaning needs, whether caused by serious water damage or normal wear and tear. We are here to lighten your cleaning load and, as our customer, we want to make sure you’re satisfied with the job we do. To ensure we have the opportunity to do our best work, there are a few things we need you to do to prepare your home for the arrival of our trained technicians. Taking these steps will allow us to give you the service you deserve in a timely fashion.
1. Please send out notice of our arrival.
We don’t want to surprise anyone when we show up, so it’s a good idea to give advanced notice to anyone who might be impacted by our arrival. Make sure everyone in the household knows we’re coming so your family can be prepared. Check to see if your HOA requires notification as well as any neighborhood security personnel. If your area has a Neighborhood Watch group, or even if your neighbors look out for one another, it can’t hurt to give them a heads-up too.
2. Please make sure all personal belongings are cleared.
For your security, and our own, please make sure there are no personal belongings in the areas you would like us to clean. Any clothing, books, toys, etc., need to be cleared so our technicians can access the floors, upholstery, and ducts that need cleaning. Having this done before we arrive can give you peace of mind, knowing that you don’t have to worry about strangers touching your belongings. This also makes the cleaning process quicker because we can go to work without delay once we arrive, effectively minimizing the amount of disruption to your household.
3. Please make arrangements for heavy furniture.
We’re happy to move lightweight furniture out of the way as we clean your floors to ensure we cover the whole area. However, due to industry safety standards, our Kiwi technicians will not be able to move heavy furniture, electronics, or breakable items. Please make sure these things are either removed before we arrive, or that there is someone available to move them as needed. We want to give you the full service you paid for and we won’t be able to do that if these items are in the way.
4. Please secure your pets.
We know that your pets are part of the family, but please take the time to secure them away from the areas where we will be working. Keeping your pets away is safer for our technicians and less stressful for your pets. Many animals are already uncomfortable with strangers in their home and the unfamiliar scents and sounds will magnify this feeling. To keep them from feeling nervous, please take the appropriate steps to house them in an area of your home that we are not scheduled to clean that day or take the opportunity to allow them to visit neighbors or family until we complete our services. Even well-behaved animals can lash out when they feel distressed. That being said, did we mention our pet stain cleaning services? They are second to none!
5. Please make sure the household is prepared for us.
To avoid any embarrassing or uncomfortable encounters, please remind everyone in the household of our scheduled services prior to our arrival. Make sure everyone is dressed and prepared for our entry to keep our technicians from accidentally walking in on someone changing or waking a family member from a nap. Let your household know we are coming and inform them which rooms we will be performing our duties in, so they can evacuate those areas. If you have requested that we clean your bathroom floors, please try to make sure all personal “business” is taken care of before we enter.
We are so excited to have the opportunity to provide you with our thorough cleaning and restorative services. If you follow the preparatory tips above, our technicians will be able to focus on the task at hand and give you floors, upholstery, and ducts that you can be proud of. We understand that our presence can be disruptive to daily household activities, so our goal is to provide you with top-level service, quickly and efficiently. Once we’ve completed our cleaning, your floors should be dry and ready for use within the hour. In many cases, drying time takes no more than 15 minutes.
So please take the time to prepare for our arrival. We promise to leave you with clean, stain-free floors and upholstery, and dust free air ducts, as quickly as we are able. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation!
