Carpet Patch Repair Services
Carpet is a remarkably resilient type of flooring, and it can hold up to many years of wear and tear, but if you have a piece of carpet with a bulge, wave, hole, tear, or pet damage, it can make the rest of the room appear damaged, dingy, or unattractive.
Have damaged carpet that needs repairing? There’s no need to do an expensive complete replacement. Kiwi Services has been repairing carpets for over 38 years—and we handle everything from pet stain removal to fixing carpet snags to smoothing out carpet bulges. Here’s more information about our services and how we can help you repair a damaged section of your carpeting.
Professional Carpet Repairs—Carpet Patch
Most of the time, when you have a damaged piece of carpet, all it takes is a quick carpet patch, which is a simple task for our professional carpet repair technicians to complete. Here’s what the process looks like:
Step 1: Cut Out the Damaged Area
Though it might seem a little unnerving, cutting the carpet is a necessary step to repairing your floor. Your Kiwi technician will measure the piece of carpet that’s damaged to determine exactly how big the patch will need to be, and then, using a utility knife or a carpet knife, they will carefully remove the piece from the damaged area, careful not to make any blemishes in the surrounding carpet.
Step 2: Size the Replacement Piece
After removing the damaged piece of carpet, your technician will then measure the piece of replacement carpet (also known as donor carpet or carpet remnant) and place it over the bare piece of flooring to make sure everything matches up perfectly.
Step 3: Insert the Replacement Piece
Your Kiwi Services technician will now install carpet in this stage of the repair. Before they pop the replacement piece in, they will lay down carpet tape, which is a double-sided tape that adheres to both the flooring and the new piece of patch carpeting.
Step 4: Smooth and Trim
After the replacement carpet has been secured, your Kiwi tech will smooth it out and trim any longer carpet fibers so that the repair looks seamless and natural with the rest of the carpet.
A carpet patch repair is just one of the many kinds of carpet repairing projects that Kiwi Services can take on. Our technicians are also well equipped to replace a tack strip, bind a carpet seam, replace a carpet pad (this is particularly needed when there has been extensive pet damage to your floors), or help you repair carpet burning.
