The old adage is that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. But what I’ve realized lately is that fly catching is probably just one of the very few things that vinegar cannot do.<\/span><\/p>\n

There’s been a huge buzz lately about all-natural cleaning products and managing a “greener” household. We all want to protect our families from the harsh effects of the chemicals in most cleaning supplies. Generally, I try to stick by the rules of, “If I can’t pronounce the first three ingredients, then I’m not using it to clean my house.”<\/p>\n

That’s why vinegar is the perfect tool to use for everyday cleaning. It’s such a versatile and natural product that it seems like its powers are unlimited.<\/p>\n

Here are just a few ways that vinegar can change your life (just trust me):
\n\u2022    Pour white vinegar (with just a little bit of water) into an empty spray bottle
\nand spray to your heart’s content to deodorize a room. This works especially
\nwell for those lingering Saturday morning breakfast smells or cigarette
\nsmoke.
\n\u2022    Soak a slice of bread in white vinegar and leave it in your kid’s lunchbox or
\nthe refrigerator to remove the smell of tuna casserole from a week ago.
\n\u2022    Get stubborn stains out of pots by boiling 2 parts white vinegar and 1 part
\nwater. The stains should magically lift, so you only have to wipe down to
\nfinish cleaning. (No more wrinkly hands from spending twenty minutes
\nscrubbing!)
\n\u2022    Add a cup of distilled vinegar to the wash cycle to make towels fluffier, sheets
\nfresher, and blankets softer.
\n\u2022    To prevent that gross soap film from clinging to your glasses, put a cup of
\nwhite vinegar in the bottom of your dishwasher and run for a few minutes.
\nTake the cup out and run a normal cycle.
\n\u2022    If your windshield wipers seem like they’re doing more damage than good,
\nthen maybe it’s time to clean them with some vinegar! Just dampen a cloth
\nwith white vinegar and run it completely up and down the blade twice. Voila!<\/p>\n

There are hundreds of more ways to clean with vinegar, but these are just a few of my favorites. Just remember to use white or distilled vinegar and always combine with some water before cleaning to dilute the acid a bit.<\/p>\n
